Summary: Interesting golf history
... This book was interesting from a historical perspective. It probably wouldn't be something a non-golfer would appreciate, but it was a fun read. It told a story of some historic golfers that I didn't know much about, but it gave you a appreciation for how the game has developed in recent years. I would recomend it to any golfer that thinks golf begins with Tiger.

Summary: A Battle Of (The) Ages!
... Is this the greatest golf match ever played? After reading this book, I would imagine most people would say, "yes." It's hard to argue against that claim. This not only was an incredible display of golf, but pitted "old verses new," "amateur vs. professional," "hot shots" vs. "has-beens." Actually, Ken Venturi and Harvie Ward weren't just newcomers on the scene. They had established themselves as young guys who could beat anyone, young or old. In today's world, they would have young pros.(Picture a young Tiger Woods

How I Play Golf

Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-12-24 Summary: Grand Slam of a Book ... Just as Tiger Woods is the real deal as a golfer and as a human, so is his book "How I Play Golf." I bought this book when it first came out. Seven years later, it continues to be a reference I use over and over. This book is well written, well organized, and is printed on high quality glossy stock. Everything about it is top notch, reflecting the excellence you expect from Tiger Woods. Hands down, with few exceptions, I'd put Tiger and his book up against the teaching-pro trinket books of the day that are spewed out ...more

Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-11-26 Summary: Golf Courses of the World: 365 Days ... This book was purchased as a gift for an avid golfer. Not being a golfer myself, I can only speak to the photos. They are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, and I wouldn't hesitate to show it off on a coffee table. A beautiful purchase. ...more
[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2009-01-06 Summary: 365 days, but not all 365 photos are worthy ... The majority of the photos in this book are fantastic, but some of them are a bit drab, be it because of the locations or the colors of some of the courses. But overall, this is a fantastic book - it's sturdy, presented well, and full of lots of great photos. It's a shame all of them weren't consistently gorgeous - a few of the photos seem a bit amateurish and the locations aren't all as spectacular as I'd have expected. ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2007-01-18 Summary: BEAUTIFUL ... I bought this gift for my father-in-law for Christmas. It is an absolutely beautiful book and looks a lot more expensive that what I paid for it. It is well worth the price. ...more
[4] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-01-18 Summary: Great Calendar Golf Book ... My fiance and I bought this book to serve as a guest book at our wedding, since we love golf we thought it would be a cool place to look back at our guests notes, while enjoying the pictures. I didn't even realize when we bought it that it serves as a calendar too, which makes the book even more fun. Now, I am going to have my guests sign in under their birthdays, so I have a catalog of all their b-days. The pictures are of good quality and I like the fluffy descriptions of the courses. We are going to try to play ...more

The Negotiable Golf Swing: How to Improve Your Game Without Picture-Perfect Form
Customer Reviews [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-09-24 Summary: An Essential for Your Golf Library ... Most of my comments have been said elsewhere, but as the dubious owner of dozens of golf instruction books (including the excellent Pelz putting and short games tomes) I can say that this book is in the top tier. The ball flight description alone is worth the price of admission. If, over the course of your golfing life, you buy five instructional books - this should make your list. ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-12-11 Summary: Golf Lover? The Negotiable Golf Swing is a MUST BUY ... The game of golf is described as one of the most difficult games on the planet. Doesn't that go against the sense of the word, "game?" Tiger Woods may have transcended the sport, but golf professionals of late have been fixated on body mechanics and positions. Mr. Laurentino's philosophy and methodology is a refreshing look at how the game of golf can be fun again. Any person with athletic ability can pick up a football or baseball and throw it. However, this same group cannot all hit a golf ball. Why? Because they ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-12-03 Summary: Finally, I understand... ... Why is Tiger's swing so different to Furyk's yet both "get the job done"? But don't just stop at that comparison - look at all the pros and there are just so many variations. So it's very refreshing to see a PGA pro discuss different aspects of the swing and explain what is negotiable and what isn't, but more importantly, WHY, and what to look at and correct if you want to hit the ball better. There's a reason why out of 20 reviewers so far, all have given this book a 5 star review. And why some of those reviewers, ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-12-15 Summary: Excellent book ... I have been playing book for 36 years and have read at least 100 books and magazines articles. Found things in this book that were expressed differently that made the light went go on for several key points. 1. Pivot around the hip sockets. 2. Shoulders are the most important alignment. The section on ball flight is worth the price of the book, best ever. Peter Jacobs book comes close but you raised the bar. When is the last time you bought a golf book and the author would answer your email. Joe will and has done that ...more
